In light of the Deslocamentos [Displacements] project, by the artist, researcher and writer Marie Ange Bordas, the ninth issue of the Caderno combines works and reflections that emerged from her journey—encompassing Brazil, Europe and Africa—with the contributions of artists and thinkers who impacted her investigation. Developed by herself over ten years, the project addressed the experience of transit through conviviality with people who were forced to displace themselves, whether beset by conflicts or pushed by the economic machine. The magazine explores this universe drawing on such topics as territorialization and cartographies of affection, including collaborations with artists and scholars such as the South African artist William Kentridge, the Cuban artist María Magdalena Campos-Pons and the Cameroonian philosopher Achille Mbembe. The material is illustrated with works by Marie Ange Bordas and María Magdalena Campos-Pons, and is accompanied by the flipbook Return, produced by William Kentridge (in collaboration with the dancer Dada Masilo).
