Produced during the artistic residency Death and Magic in the Visual Arts, in the Goiás village of Cemitério do Peixe, the work is a silent video performance that investigates ancestral memories and spirituality. For ten consecutive days, the artist walks to the Paraúna River—the place where slaves were buried—accompanied by an invited witness and equipped only with a camera and a tripod. In the same frame, she enters the shallow waters, giving herself over to bodily improvisations in search of a conscious trance. The unexpected presence of the dog Vitória transforms the action into a spontaneous choreography, intertwining body and spirit, human and animal. Baile establishes itself as a gesture of deep listening, where the visible and the invisible merge in the suspended time of the performance.
