How are feminism, sexual dissent and queer activism transforming art history’s traditional discourses? What is the role of art in the ways of experiencing and representing gender? The 11th Caderno Sesc_Videobrasil aims to observe how feminism, gay activism, post-pornography and other forms of body-based critical response are transforming the discourses of art history and the grammar of art itself. The publication offers a mix of theoretical essays and visual proposals that revisit queer initiatives in art or propose new perspectives of art history in light of these critical responses. This issue of the Caderno includes two additional materials: a folder-poster Museu Travestí Del Perú, a project by the Peruvian philosopher and drag queen Giuseppe Campuzano; and a stencil created by the Serigrafistas queer [Queer Silk Screen Printers] with the phrase “El machismo mata!” [Sexism kills].
