In its fourth edition, Caderno Sesc_Videobrasil features essays and images that reflect on the occupation of space, associating art, architecture, history, society, design, memory, imagination and politics in different settings. The American poet and essayist Alan Michael Parker draws from the experience of mega-museums to tackle the current art system. Daniel Hora examines the iconization of Dubai’s opulence and hypermodernity. French philosopher Frédéric Neyrat addresses civilization's suicidal impulse. Architect Marcelo Ferraz analyzes the dialogue between art and its audience based on projects by Lina Bo Bardi. Artist Rodrigo Matheus and filmmaker Laura Faerman test the way we produce mental representations of space. Fernando Oliva meets Brazilian artist Renata Lucas, and Silas Martí talks to the collectives Chto Delat, from Russia, and Oda Projesi, from Türkiye, about cities and communities.
