In 2015, Videobrasil will be visiting Africa, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Europe, and North America through exhibitions, events and video programs of the Collection

The exhibitions and video programs proposed by Videobrasil or by independent curators based on Videobrasil's collection enable the activation of artworks by artists from the global South and their propagation to organizations around the world. In 2015, Videobrasil will be visiting such different places as Dubai, South Africa, Barbados, Poland, Cuba and the USA, as well as other cities in Brazil.

In March, a set of Videobrasil Collection works will be shown at the Marker curatorial program of the Art Dubai fair, in the United Arab Emirates. Bernardo José de Souza, member of the 19th Festival’s Curatorial Committee and former curator of the 9th Mercosul Biennial (2013) will carry out two curated programs based on the Videobrasil collection: the first will be presented in Cape Town, South Africa, in February and the second one at Goethe-Institut Porto Alegre and São Paulo, Brazil, in July. In May, works by artists Leticia Ramos and Luiz Roque, part of the Videobrasil Collection, will be presented at the 16th edition of the WRO Media Art Biennale in Wroclaw, Poland, and at the Caribbean Cultural Diversity Congress in Havana, Cuba, alongside a lecture from Videobrasil’s director and curator Solange Farkas.

Videobrasil also fulfills its mission by attending seminars, panels and debates at events throughout the world. In February 2015, Solange Farkas will take part at the meeting “Tilting Axis: Within and Beyond the Caribbean ‒ Shifting Models of Sustainability and Connectivity,” at Fresh Milk, in Barbados.

In 2014, exhibitions revisiting the 30th anniversary of Videobrasil were held in Atlanta (USA), Warsaw (Poland), Porto Alegre (Brazil), Johannesburg and Cape Town (South Africa). Other cross-sections of the Videobrasil Collection were featured at exhibitions in Lisbon (Portugal), Beijing (China), London (United Kingdom) and São Paulo (Brazil). Partnering with the Goethe Institut and Sesc São Paulo, Videobrasul has held the “Summer Conversations” program, bringing together artists and researchers from different countries and academic fields to reflect on the global contemporary racial condition. Videobrasil was featured in other events such as RioContentMarket, in Rio de Janeiro; Global Art Forum, in Doha, Qatar; SP-Arte, in São Paulo; the Artist Residency Seminar at Funarte, in Rio de Janeiro; as well as other events at Santander Cultural, in Porto Alegre, and at Red Gate Residency, in Beijing.
