2013 Tijuana Printed Art Fair
The Tijuana Fair, due on July 27 and 28 at São Paulo’s Casa do Povo venue, is a facility for presentation, distribution and sale of publications, artist books, engravings, posters, vinyl and DVDs. In addition to the annual printed art fair, held since 2009, the Tijuana holds exhibitions and launches on a regular basis, as well as entering partnerships with other publishers, projects, and organizations.
Videobrasil will feature in the 5th edition of the event with publications by Edições Sesc SP_Videobrasil Arte Contemporânea, such as: Caderno Sesc_Videobrasil, an annual magazine featuring experimental curating proposals in a printed environment, developed by Moacir do Anjos, Rodrigo Moura, Lisette Lagnado, among others; books on artists, that build on the contents of shows held (such as Joseph Beuys – We are the revolution, Olafur Eliasson | Your body of work, and Isaac Julien: Geopoetics); catalogues for each edition of the International Contemporary Art Festival; and theory books featuring academic readings of artistic and cultural issues with a reader-friendly editorial approach - series innaugurated with Expanded Literature, by Ana Pato, on the work of Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster. These publications aim to help build a new Brazilian contemporary art library.
Inaugurated in 2007, Tijuana is Galeria Vermelho’s bid to create a venue for exhibiting art that gets disregarded because its format is incompatible with traditional venues.
