Carla Zaccagnini at Galeria Vermelho
From February 26 at Galeria Vermelho, Carla Zaccagnini receives the solo show Pelas Bordas. The title suggests us the idea of seeing as an outsider the rules that dictate our observation, comprehension, and representation our planet, employing practices as diverse as installation, video, text, drawing, etc.
Zaccagnini, born in Buenos Aires in 1973, shows in Pelas Bordas documents gathered throughout recent trips around the globe, including residency programs and projects produced in the last decade. For example, in The North-West Passage (2012), the artist utilizes an image by paintor Jogn Everett Millais, juxtaposing original texts (commissioned by TATE); the installation Bravo-Radio-Atlas-Virus-Opera (2009-2010) presents the video footage of her interoceanic journey crossing the Panama Canal (this work was awarded in the 17th Videobrasil Festival).
