To face the challenge of making contemporary art understandable to the general public is a constant in the Videobrasil programming. To the show Isaac Julien: Geopoetics, aesthetic and political issues inspire mediation and training actions that include an international seminar, a training program for educators and lectures with the artist and critic Mark Nash.

The seminar includes the participation of researchers Vinicius Spricigo, Lisa Bloom and Rania Gaafar to develop, along three modules, aspects of the works of Julien such as their relations with the history, geography and gender and ethnicity issues.

In the training series, aimed at educators, specialists develop multidisciplinary approaches that make possible the make use of this important artistic production in formal and art education programs.

And Mark Nash, curator and theorist of cinema, speaks on the place of film language in Julien’s work, focusing on the installation Ten Thousand Waves. The artist will also speak of his career in a public event.
Besides this extensive program, the exhibition will also offer mediated visits with specific approaches for each visitor profile.

Moreover, at the Area of Education and Training, the public will have access to research materials on Julien’s production and on concepts around his work.
