What are our notions of home and belonging? How do the realities of migration impact this? These are some of the questions raised by the work of Swiss-Vietnamese Thi My Lien Nguyen.

In "From Within", the artist pays homage to those who came before, who raised, nurtured and sacrificed to give their children a better life. Adopting the perspective of second-generation immigrants, Nguyen uses images from her family life. The composition stimulates the examination of issues important to her, such as the power of images in creating worlds, especially in relation to the conception of home in post-migratory contexts.
