The idea of the film started as a kind of pretext for the director to re-discover Lebanon after a long absence. Filming forgotten people and places that are far from the centre, the film ultimately gives an unusual picture of Lebanon of today. Trains-Trains: Where Is the Track? is not a nostalgic film about a past golden era, but a film well anchored in the present.
