Photographer and visual artist. He works with photography and performance, through which he creates alternative identities that challenge conventional representational standards. Throughout his career, he gave self-fiction and self-portrait a dimension that was simultaneously political and historical, fictional and intimate. Incorporating important historical figures and social archetypes became for him not only a way of existing in the world, but also a clear demonstration of the power of photography in building myths, and a way of questioning what is at stake in the codes of representation and identity. He has recently held solo shows at the Princeton University Art Museum, USA (2022); Museum der Moderne, Salzburg, Germany (2022); and Maison européeenne de la photographie, Paris, France (2022). He lives between Bangui and Paris.
