Holder of a graduate degree in the history of modern and contemporary art from the Escola de Música e Belas‑Artes do Paraná (Embap), Urban studied the visual arts and photography. As a journalist and writer specialized in cinema, he has produced short films and coordinated the Curitiba‑based festivals Putz – Festival Universitário de Cinema e Vídeo de Curitiba, and Curta 8 – Festival Internacional de Cinema Super‑8 de Curitiba.
